[And at some point this afternoon (as much as it can be said to be afternoon here, the perpetual night is a little much to get used to), messages will go out: ]

Vereist: I'm willing to do whatever is necessary for what I want, and I find myself greatly disinterested in falling behind on our tasks.
Vereist: If you feel likewise, then I want to know you. I can be found at the park in the arcane district.
Vereist: I can theoretically assist you with stealing a house in some way, though I find that notion to be somewhat uncouth.
Vereist: Though, again, I'll do whatever is required.
Vereist: Either way, those of us with ideals must prepare for the arduous journey before us. Let us join hands now, while the world and its treasures are ours for the taking.

[II.]
[He can be found, as he'd stated, at the park in the Arcane District; he's got his hair tied back loosely at the nape of his neck and he's dressed simply, but he's got that emblem on its chain wrapped around his wrist a few times, visible beneath the lower edge of his left sleeve. He's settled on one of the benches near the lake, and he...seems to be feeding the ducks, or at least he's trying to. Whether they'll take anything from him or not is a little hit or miss, but he seems relaxed either way.

Feel free to approach him, feel free to join him. Either way, he can't say he isn't receptive.]

[The text was too interesting to pass up. Few people are so bold to introduce themselves in such a way, and it seems worth the effort to get to at least know the face of this 'Vereist'.

When he arrives at the park, he scans the area, phone in hand before noticing the man...feeding ducks. There doesn't seem to many other people in the area but...Mr. Beard raises a brow, then sends off a reply just to confirm.]

Mr. Beard: I came to the park to meet you.
Mr. Beard: Would you be the one feeding ducks?

[Mm. Well, that certainly does get that man's attention, his phone vibrating in his pocket; he'll pull it out and check the messages, and to his credit he doesn't look around to see who sent it. He simply responds; he's getting faster with it, these devices really are lovely.]

Vereist: I am.
Vereist: It was good of you to come. You're welcome to join me if you so choose.

[carpegloriam]

[Seeing the man go for his phone should be proof enough, but he waits for the messages to show up before relaxing and moving towards him. It never hurts to be cautious after all.]

It's good to see someone eager to get started.

[Well, hello there, you; he will look over to see who's joining him, though if he has any opinions on the matter he keeps them off his face.]

I feel that we should be, given what's potentially at stake. What I want is important to me, after all; I want to know those who feel the same.

[carpegloriam]

I understand. My wish is also highly important to me, which is why I plan to do my utmost to ensure it's fulfilled.

[Pauses a moment, looking him over.]

You specified an attempt on...'acquiring' a house. I assume that means you have the Muscle role?

[silbernewelt]

I do indeed. I have training in both physical and magic-based combat; I unfortunately lack the skills and specific discipline of a mage, but that matters rather little if the goal is victory by any means possible.

Might I ask for your own specialization?

[carpegloriam]

[He raises a brow at the word "magic"; looking somewhat interested.]

We'd likely benefit most from stealth. "Magic" could help or hinder us, depending on its nature...but that's a moot point if neither of us have the necessary abilities for it.

As for myself, I'm a Grifter. If it's just the two of us, we could seek out a heart or a home...or potentially find something that could fit the definitions of both.

[Okay, so the series of texts have definitely caught the interest of Shade (temporary name™), and he heads out to the park to check it out without even sending a text in response because he's rude like that. He's pretty good at casing out the place and finding his target, and this time is no exception. There are other people here, of course, but only one wearing the necklace - though it does take him awhile to locate it on this guy's wrist.

He'll head on over to join you then, hands in his pockets with his shawl mostly covering them.]

Hey. Mind if I join you?

[He tips his head to indicate the ducks. You'll probably notice the flash of silver from beneath the shawl when he shifts a little revealing the necklace before slipping it back in his pocket and properly turning his attention to the ducks.]

[Ah, there we are. He doesn't miss that brief glimpse of silver, and he seems easy enough when he responds; if he finds the lack of text beforehand to be rude, he doesn't seem inclined to say so.]

You are more than welcome to. I imagine that the company would be pleasant, if nothing else.

Yeah.

[He'll join you properly, then, kneeling nearby to watch the ducks. They're cute...]

Though maybe you're overestimating my company a bit.

[It's clearly a joke judging from the smirk.]

[They are, in fact, very cute! ...That is why he's feeding them.

That said, it gets a light laugh out of him, at least.]

Since you chose to respond to my message, I don't think that will be the case at all.

Who knows, you could find me to be the most boring of our group.

I'm curious to hear what ideas you've got, though. We've been given some pretty interesting tasks.

We have. Tell me - do any of them interest you? I've already stated one that can be done with my own role in mind, should you want to take that option.

Most of them are interesting; I'm used to stealing physical things, so the ideas presented sound fun.

[A good test of his skills, in other words.]

"Steal a house", was it? That one sounds interesting. You got any ideas how to go about that?

Storm: Ideals, huh.
Storm: Sure, let's talk. Meet you there.

Vereist: Very well; I shall be awaiting your arrival.
Vereist: I can be found near the lake. There aren't many others present.

[taser_addict]

Storm: Yeah, I see you.
Storm: Look left.

[if he does, there's a beanpole of a college-age kid standing a little further down the shore, idly watching him feed the ducks; it looks like he's been there for a few minutes. he nods fractionally, then starts to casually wander over.

he's not holding his phone, though, even though he was texting a few seconds ago. weird.]

[To his credit, he at least comprehends the notion of not making a production out of looking for people; he'll glance over after a bit, though he isn't acquainted enough with the device to really have any ingrained thoughts as to the lack of one being weird. A few seconds have passed, the kid probably has pockets, and tbh Vereist over here is medieval as hell.

He'll go back to the task at hand - namely, ducks, because they're cute and here and something to keep his focus on; that doesn't mean he won't speak when approaached, however.]

It was good of you to join me. You can consider it appreciated.

[slips his hands into his pickets, watching the ducks go after Vereist's latest offering; it's a cute sight, no question]

That was quite a speech.

[The ducks are precious; that's why he's here.]

There was nothing in it that wasn't genuine.

[ Vanitas surprisingly isn't here for the message.

But he's out, bright and early, clad in black and red (but helmet missing), and stops upon recognizing the figure. ]

Getting comfortable already, aren't you?

[silbernewelt]

[Nice to see you, too.]

Is there a reason that I should not? We're going to be here for a while, from the sounds.

[ His lips curled into a frown. ]

Seems like it. But, what exactly are you planning on doing? Just falling in line or what?

[ Towards the end of his question, his eyes land on the ducks, and he gives them an unfriendly look when one gets too close to him. ]

[silbernewelt]

I believe it will be easiest to be cooperative now and cause problems later, if I decide that to be the best course of action. As opposed to behaving rebelliously from the start, which may have unfortunate repercussions into the future.

Besides, there's more than enough at stake that I may as well attempt to see things through.

[ He gives a small 'hum' in consideration.

It'd be just like serving Master Xehanort again in a way, wouldn't it? He's weighing the pros and cons. He supposed there is something worthwhile in seeing if going along for now would produce a good result - he could pretend to be a "good boy". As "good" as he'd ever managed under the Organization or Xehanort's watch, that is.

He moves his foot to nudge the duck that came close. ]

Not an entirely awful idea since we'll see sooner or later whether or not this organization of theirs will be worth it.
