[Game Intro Log]
Who: Everyone!
Where: The Glymmer Ragamuffins Dorm, and elsewhere
When: April 8, noon-ish
[Rise and shine, new thieves! A new day is dawning!]
[You awaken as per the arrival page, healthy and whole (or perhaps still injured and sick, depending on your status before your arrival), knowing who you are and why you're here. . . sort of. But there is one thing you don't recall: your name. Your name, your code name, your nickname, anything you were once called back at home has been taken from you. And considering you've been dragged to an entirely new world? That may be a bit of a problem.]
[Perhaps you finally stumble your way out of your dorm room. If you do, you're surely not the only one. There's a gaggle of strangers wandering the hallways just as dazed and confused as you are. Perhaps it's time to say hi!]
[And when you make your way down to the lobby, you'll find that a large table has been set up near the entrance. It's covered in a black and gold checkered tablecloth, and there are multi-colored balloons tied to the ends of the table for decorations. A large vanilla sheet cake with buttercream icing sits on said table, completely unguarded and free for the taking. It's decorated with blue, purple and pink flowers, and the text says: WELCOME TO GLYMMER, NEW RECRUITS!]
[Next to the cake you'll find paper plates, plastic utensils, a cake knife, and a bowl of punch with a serving ladle and some paper cups. The punch is not spiked, sorry to say, but I guess there's nothing stopping you if you really want to. . .? Provided you get your hands on some alcohol. Either way, it seems you're allowed to help yourself!]
[The piano is playing a soft tune but it's weird because nobody is actually sitting at the piano. The keys seem to be playing all by themselves. . . ? Weird!]
[Welcome to your new lives as phantom thieves. Time to get acquainted with your guild mates. And maybe pick new names for each other!]
[. . .]
[Sometime in the late evening, after you've either flounced from the welcome festivities or met everyone you're willing to meet, your phone suddenly buzzes with a new message. . .]
---
INTRO NOTES: Welcome to Glymmer's very first mingle log! I did not include multiple prompts, but you are welcome to include them in your comment if you wish. Further, if your character would not stick around for cake and punch, that is perfectly okay! You can post a top level to this mingle log with them interacting with some other aspect of the city if you'd like. A wildcard prompt, so to speak. But otherwise, feel free to use this to meet each other ICly and make friends! And feel free to make your own posts to the community as well!

MISSIONS, GET!
[Checking the app is rewarding, because you've got an announcement!]
sccrmama17: Did you hear about the thief who stole a calendar?
sccrmama17:
sccrmama17:
sccrmama17: He got twelve months!
sccrmama17: Hee hee, ooooh, I've got a book of these that I simply cannot wait to share with you all!
sccrmama17: Anywho, this is Topaz-- your dorm mother!
sccrmama17: Are you all settling in well?
sccrmama17: Did you enjoy the cake and party favors?
sccrmama17: The motivational messages?
sccrmama17: I'm so sorry I couldn't set up anything more lavish for you all, but I did the best I could do on such a short time period!
sccrmama17: Waking up in a new world can be rather frightening, and I wanted you all to feel welcome and courageous. ♥
sccrmama17: As much as I would love to let you continue to adapt before throwing you into the fire, the higher ups are eager for you all to get started on this month's missions.
sccrmama17: And so, here we are!sccrmama17: And that's all I have for you today, my darlings.
sccrmama17: Good luck!
sccrmama17: Topaz, out! ☆

if for some reason anyone feels moved to do a double take or act like this isn't perfectly normal, the eye blinks once, slowly, and refocuses sharply on their face.]
What's that on the table? I can smell it.
[it's not an angry voice, and not as... big... as one might assume. but the question is very pointed.]

[There's a boy with golden, cat-like eyes helping himself immediately to the cake and the punch, shamelessly cutting out a large slice for himself. If the whole thing seems shady to him, he doesn't seem to mind in the face of C A K E.
Should anyone approach him as he fetches his dessert, he just grins, smile friendly and cheerful.]
So, you got the offer for the wish thing, too?
[Any character familiar with Japanese enough may note that he's using a godawful Kansai accent. Seriously?]
[Missions?]
[Okay, this cellphone is way fancier than anything he's ever had (hello from 1999!) but! He's a smart guy! He can figure this out.
And he does, enough to check out the missions they have available. He hums thoughtfully to himself as he looks them over.]
Well, I'm a "grifter", but... stealin' someone's heart? That sounds kinda mean, don't you think?

[Okay, so this is... new. Honestly, he's not really sure what to make of anything that just happened, but the party is especially baffling. Maybe he'll grab some cake in a moment, but for the time being he heads on over to hold up the walls, and uh... Hang on.
He'll watch the piano for a moment in confusion before speaking to the closest person, which is probably you.]
That's weird.
[...So is all of this, but apparently that's the hill his brain decided to die on today.]
II.
[The party's great(?) and all, but honestly he's not one for things like this, so he's headed out when the phone buzzes. He drops the thing like it's on fire and backs away, eyes narrowing as he studies it. Does... does he seriously think it's going to attack him or something oh my god someone help him he doesn't know anything about technology.]
ii.
There are a lot of ways to react to getting a text, but that's sure a new one to Minato.
He looks at the phone on the ground and...tilts his head.]

[You know when you have a lot of static electricity in your hair and a balloon is stuck to it, and the balloon just stubbornly sticks there for the rest of time?
Well, Minato's got that fabulous 'do going on, as he sits and eats some cake casually.
Does he even notice that there's a balloon stuck to his head...? It could go either way, really.]
b
[Minato definitely finds himself drawn to the piano at some point, staring at it as it plays. Is it one of those old-timey ones like in the old westerns...?
He's definitely going to hit a few keys out of curiosity, tapping his lip with one finger in curiosity.
Sorry if he's ruining your jam. It's important, okay!!]
Battery-powered, maybe...? [No, Minato, Magic-powered.]

Does he remember his name yet? No, he does not. Does not having a name he can give to people ever stop him? Hell no, it does not. It's not like he's ever carried out inspections as "himself" either, whomever the hell he was before.
So he can be found in one of two places; the first is near the piano, sitting calmly and taking sips of punch that are courteous enough to not betray the fact that he's completely appalled by this godforsaken oversugared concoction.]
Hopefully you're doing well enough; it's been an interesting day so far, I'd say.
[...That's the politest way he could have put that, probably.
Of course, he won't be there for terribly long, just long enough; otherwise, he can be found off in one of the corners of the room, toying with the smartphone in his hand. He doesn't seem troubled by it, and if the look in his eyes is anything to judge by, he seems a little excited; he finds it intuitive enough, and he manages to pull up the app with Topaz's messages easily enough, and...god, that's the sort of stupid thing that makes him miss his brother. His expression goes a little strange for a moment, before he manages to figure out how to reply.
Not to the missions, of course, but that first part.]
Vereist: Have you heard what they say about the calendar thief lately?
Vereist: I hear his days are numbered.
[So anyway- ...wow, sending messages on this thing is weirdly delightful? That feels very satisfying and like he's accomplished something and anyway, the point is that he's going to be messing with his phone for a good amount of his time here, just because he's never seen anything quite like it before and there's an internet and he has no earthly clue what that is, but by god, he's going to find out.
...He looks so enthralled with this. Dear god, someone gave this man technology and he's not going to want to give it back.]
piano
[nevertheless! he sips idly at his own cup of punch, one hand resting in his pocket, shoulders hunched. and when he sees his fellow guildmate over by the piano and is subsequently addressed by him, he gives a small shrug]

[When she first exits her room in a tired daze, she can't help but stare down at her hands in contemplation. Real, solid... alive. Excitement swells in her chest — alive! It worked! The voice wasn't lying!]
Today's a nice day, isn't it?

b;
